Embitterment

She gracefully tiptoed through the abyss

nor did any of us see her

stuck in the melting pot

together we burned

reeking havoc and turning phrases

was this asked for?

do we deserve this misfortune?

certain questions asked but none were answered

cancerous work put forth

my hand was flaccid and loose

almost like it was screwed on

being treated like machinery

no closing the gates now

we finally came together

what I saw was completely to my surprise

it wasn’t lucid, nor fake

quiet and small in size

really it didn’t amount to anything

all it turned out to be was a bitter scent that never left
